  • PAID SICK TIME (PST) REQUEST FOR CONNECTICUT PAYROLL ASSOCIATES:

Atrium Associates that work in Connecticut in a "service worker" role are eligible to accrue earned sick time on all hours worked at a rate of one (1) hour of earned sick time for every 40 hours worked and use up to 40 hours per calendar year. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31. A service worker is an employee engaged primarily in an occupation defined by the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard. To access a list of eligible roles, please click here.

Service workers cannot begin using accrued paid sick leave until completion of 680 hours of employment, counted from January 1, 2012, if employed on or before that date, or counted from the service worker's date of employment if hired after that date. Also, service workers must have worked an average of least 10 hours per week in the most recently completed calendar quarter. Any earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year.

Paid sick time may be taken in one (1) hour increments. If the sick leave is foreseeable, you must verbally notify your immediate supervisor and Atrium counselor no more than seven days in advance of the need for leave. PST is paid at your current hourly rate.

If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PST is not paid out. You must be on an active assignment to be eligible for a PST payment, and submission may not be more than 14 days from the date of request.
